A healthy start: “Green Smoothie” by Ms. Träger
Ms. Träger, our mentor in the castle and one of our nurses, starts each morning healthily. Her love for juices, smoothies, and bowls also benefited the participants of her project: “Cooking – Smoothie Magic and Bowl Buddies.” Ms. Träger also brought her juices to Obertauern. Are you in the mood for a green smoothie and a “healthy good morning kick”? Here’s the recipe.
Green Smoothie and 1000 Variants
The device you can trust
Juicer: Slow Juicer (But it also works in a high-performance blender.)
“The green juice”
Ingredients:
1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of parsley, 1 apple, half a cucumber, a large piece of ginger, 2 lemons: grated peel, 1 half fennel, 4 stalks of celery, and 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil.
Preparation:
Peel or process all ingredients accordingly and then put them in the juicer. Drink the juice immediately or refrigerate it. Enjoy it within three days.
Alternative:
One can also add an orange or a quarter of a pineapple.
“The green smoothie”
For the smoothie, you need to add a creamy component, such as a banana or plant-based milk. The smoothie must always be creamy. This is achieved by using a frozen ingredient.
Ingredients:
1 handful of spinach, 1 handful of parsley, 1 apple, half a cucumber, juice of one lemon, a small piece of ginger, 1 cup of pineapple (FROZEN), 1 banana, coconut water or almond milk or water or canned coconut milk – depending on taste.
Alternative:
Add homemade protein powder.
Preparation:
Peel all the ingredients accordingly and then place them in the juicer. Drink the juice immediately or chill it. Enjoy within three days.
