Our idea & a family-run boarding school
Dear students and parents …
… In the spring of 1993, we as the sponsoring family began to realize our idea on the meadowy shore of Lake Torgelow: to found a boarding school where gifted and talented children and young people who bring curiosity and a willingness to achieve will find a second home in important years.
Today, Schloss Torgelow is one of the most renowned German boarding schools. We are proud that our pupils come to Torgelow am See from all over Germany and abroad to receive the education that will qualify them for a lifetime. Our students live and learn in a strong community, acquire knowledge, discover skills and develop a sense of responsibility, make friends and grow up together. We, as the sponsoring family, accompany them with our educational team on their way to the Abitur and are proud of their achievements.
My own school experiences in classes that were too large, the lack of attention and the boredom of frontal teaching motivated me, together with my father, to found a school as school should be: small classes with individual support, teaching at a high level and an extracurricular program that gives everyone the opportunity to discover their talents.
The outstanding success of our students in their A-levels and later in life shows that we have made the right decision.
With the realization of Schloss Torgelow, we have continued a family tradition. My father’s school biography prompted my grandmother to found the Kurpfalz boarding school in Bammental near Heidelberg over 60 years ago.
As a family, we have already proven that the vision of a different, better school does not have to remain a dream. I would be delighted to introduce you to Schloss Torgelow during a personal visit, because only those who have seen and experienced Torgelow are able to judge what makes Schloss Torgelow a very special school.
