Spring is on the way – the 6th grade is creating the school garden

The school garden still looks like an ordinary green space – but not for long. The sixth-grade students have big plans: with creative ideas, thoughtful planning, and a lot of energy, our school garden is coming to life bit by bit.

Together, it was discussed which plants should thrive here in the future. The selection ranges from crunchy carrots and juicy strawberries to a colorful flowering meadow that will attract bees, bumblebees, and butterflies. The goal is a garden that invites not only gardening but also observing, researching, and enjoying.

The first beds are already in planning, the seed lists written – now it’s time to roll up our sleeves, prepare the soil, soon there will be sowing, watering, weeding, and later also harvesting.

A special highlight: In cooperation with the project “More than honey,” an insect hotel, a bumblebee house, and nesting opportunities for wild bees are currently being created – a valuable contribution to the protection of biodiversity and the promotion of ecological awareness in everyday school life.

The school garden will become a place of learning in the coming weeks, making nature tangible – with many opportunities to touch, participate, and marvel. A big thank you to all the hardworking little and big helpers.
