Former students of the boarding school: Kirsten meets – Episode 11
Life can be so beautiful. And it is especially beautiful when you are entrusted with a task that brings joy, promises fun, moves you to tears, and you have the chance to visit impressive personalities in their professional environment.
I, Kirsten Lehmann, have the privilege of meeting former graduates of Schloss Torgelow in the film series “Kirsten Meets…” and visiting them in their current lives.
What I experienced during my visits, what I learned about the different career paths of the former students, their goals, and their time at Schloss Torgelow, has been captured on camera by Jens Lange from “flamencofilm.” The resulting films are multifaceted, very personal, full of life, a bit “sentimental,” and there are one or two challenges for me to master.
Definitely check it out, mark it down, and celebrate with me. Have fun!

Episode 11: Kirsten meets… Matti Elsner, Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering and member of the research department at Berlin Heart GmbH. A matter close to the heart.
Matti graduated from high school at Schloss Torgelow in 2006. He then studied mechanical engineering and later medical technology at the TU Berlin. Matti went to America as a working student and found a field of work and research at Berlin Heart GmbH that challenges him and for which his heart beats. Berlin Heart GmbH develops and produces blood pumps that ensure blood supply for patients with heart failures. Berlin Heart is the only company in the world that can help babies and children with heart problems.
I had the opportunity to visit Matti at Berlin Heart in the heart of the capital. A film has been created about Matti, about life, about the heartbeat and the pumping of blood, about research and development, about change and transformation, about the passion for science and about the certainty of helping people with one’s work.
Dear Matti, thank you for a day full of warmth, trust, and friendship. Thank you for your intensive preparation, your patient and competent explanations, for the journey into the interior of the body, and for the experience of feeling the heartbeat and the circulation of blood. I had the privilege of meeting you as a dedicated scientist and proudly witnessed how passionate you are about your work and research. I could feel that your heart still beats for Schloss Torgelow, and I have firmly sealed our day in my heart. The pictures that the children painted for Berlin Heart as a thank you, because “your pump” saved their lives, still accompany me and have deeply touched me. Thank you very much for a heartwarming day in Berlin.
Episode 12: “Kirsten meets……” Richard Wagner in Dubai. His office “WANDERS WAGNER ARCHITECTS” plans and realizes skyscrapers and private homes in the desert state.
