Life can be so beautiful. And it is especially beautiful when you are entrusted with a task that brings joy, promises fun, moves you to tears, and you have the chance to visit impressive personalities in their professional environment.

I, Kirsten Lehmann, have the privilege of meeting former graduates of Schloss Torgelow in the film series “Kirsten Meets…” and visiting them in their current lives.

What I experienced during my visits, what I learned about the different career paths of the former students, their goals, and their time at Schloss Torgelow, has been captured on camera by Jens Lange from “flamencofilm.” The resulting films are multifaceted, very personal, full of life, a bit “sentimental,” and there are one or two challenges for me to master.

Episode 13: Kirsten meets… Aida Avdusinovic in Dubai. Aida is responsible for PR and communication for international fashion brands in the United Arab Emirates. Desert Swing Part 2 – a girl’s dream!

Aida completed her Abitur in 2009 at Schloss Torgelow. Afterwards, she went to Dubai and studied Communications with a focus on Journalism and Public Relations at Murdoch University. Aida gained her first experience in the communications field at a PR agency in Dubai. She now works for the Al Tayer Group, which is the largest franchise partner for the most well-known luxury brands in the Middle East. Aida is responsible for the PR and communication of fashion labels such as Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Stella McCartney, among others.

I had the opportunity to visit Aida in Dubai and spend a fairytale-like girls’ day with her. A film has been created about Aida, about her love for Dubai, about fashion, about a confident and beautiful young woman who has to assert herself in a tough business. Desert Swing Part 2 is a film about real connection, about friendship, about courage, and about trust and affection.

Dear Aida, thank you for a day full of warmth, laughter, enjoyment, and fashion. I experienced you as a talent for organization and communication and could sense why you fell in love with Dubai. You took me on a journey full of girlhood dreams. I got to see your successful campaigns and witnessed firsthand how you successfully manage your labels. I had the opportunity to look behind the scenes of a tough industry and at the same time enjoyed a day with friends. We tried on crazy shoes and indulged in “in” stylish handbags. I got to choose dresses for you and accompany you to a fashion event. And despite your many responsibilities, you made me feel every moment as if it were my day, as if everything revolved around me.

Dear Aida, I was and am impressed by your inner and outer beauty, I am proud of your professionalism, I am touched by your connection to Schloss Torgelow, and I am grateful for the many good conversations, for the many laughs, and for the opportunity to immerse myself in your world. I know that it is not always like a fairy tale, but for me, it was a fairy tale day. You are in my heart. Thank you!
