“Takeshi’s Castle”: Annual highlight at our school campus.

As every year, our school campus in Torgelow am See transformed into the legendary Takeshi’s Castle. Students of all ages faced the challenges in an imitation of the TV show – an unforgettable event that placed fun, skill, teamwork, and competition at its core. Our fearless “Takeshi,” the headmaster Mr. Klein, was supported by Marie Lehmann, who held the position of the strict marshal.

In various challenges, the students had to qualify for the final for the treasure. This year, the following challenges awaited the kids and teenagers:

The Balls of Horror

The starting signal was given with “The Balls of Horror.” Golf balls were scattered across the field, and the students had to collect them using collecting tubes. Each player needed ten balls to qualify for the next round. The excitement grew as the first participants jubilantly ran to the referee – those who were quick enough were allowed to continue competing.

The Coins of Terror

At the tables, it got tactical: In “The Coins of Terror,” the players faced off in pairs and had to place coins as accurately as possible on a circular field. The skill test brought some surprises – often, the opponent would knock a coin off the table, leading to heated but fair duels.

The Hill of Horror

Next station: “The Hill of Dismay”: The students ran down the muddy hill and threw a bottle until it came to a stop before they could conquer the muddy hill. Meanwhile, they dragged heavy tires up the slope, an obstacle that caused some participants to stumble. But only the two fastest from each group were allowed to continue.

The throat of perdition

In “The Abyss of Perdition,” nimble hands were required. The players had to maneuver table tennis balls on cardboard lids so that they fell through a hole in the center of the lid. It was an exciting race against time – only the fastest three made it to the next round.

The Pond of Death

A particularly spectacular scene was provided by the game “The Pond of Death.” Here, the remaining participants swung like Tarzan on a rope over a ditch. The air was filled with cheers, and everyone made the jump dry.

The Planks of the Abyss

In “The Planks of the Abyss,” the players balanced on construction boards that swayed on stand-up boards. Particularly tricky: an egg had to be transported on a spoon without breaking. Many failed the challenge, but the first players to safely reach the shore made it to the finals.

The Balls of Damnation

In the game “The Balls of Damnation,” precision was key. The players had to try to stop a ball exactly inside a hula hoop. Those who succeeded without the ball rolling out qualified for the grand final.

The fight for the treasure

In the final “Battle for the Treasure,” the last remaining players faced Takeshi’s team, led by Mr. Klein and his henchmen, the mentors. In a course full of challenges, ranging from the pacifier game to the plate run and belly rolling, the best participants prevailed. The grand finale was the treasure tower, which had to be climbed. Here, speed and skill were required – whoever reached the top first would win the treasure for their team.

And the winner is…

This year, Constantin Porsch, the team captain of the Foxes, secured the victory. With great determination, endurance, and skill, he fought his way through the various challenges and was the first to climb the treasure tower. The highly coveted treasure – a box full of sweets – thus went to the Castle Boys. For Constantin, this was a particularly emotional moment, as he triumphantly completed Takeshi’s Castle in his final school year.

Everyone is already looking forward to next year when Mr. Klein will once again challenge the brave fighters as Takeshi and Marie Lehmann as the court marshal.
