Member of the European Parliament Sabrina Repp as a guest

On February 24th, we had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest at Schloss Torgelow: Member of the European Parliament Sabrina Repp led an engaging discussion with our students from Mr. Költgen’s Social Studies advanced course.

The conversation focused on the current challenges of European politics as well as the importance of cooperation within the European Union, as well as current national political developments. The students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own perspectives. Sabrina Repp showed great interest in the issues that are important to young people. She not only explained the role of the European Parliament but also how political decisions are made at the European level and what impact they have on the daily lives of people in the member states. In addition, she talked about how she managed to get into the European Parliament at just 26 years old.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to provide students with a practical insight into European politics and to raise awareness of the importance of active participation in political affairs. It became clear how important it is to shape the future of Europe together – and that everyone can make a contribution.

We thank Sabrina Repp for her visit and the inspiring exchange. There will also be a return visit. During the long weekend in March, the Social Studies class will travel to Brussels and experience the European institutions live on site.
