Lecture at the University of Greifswald
At the Career Day of the University of Greifswald, I had the opportunity to represent the Private Boarding School Schloss Torgelow and speak about a topic that has accompanied me for years: Why a focus on performance in school is important.
Admittedly, the campus was quite quiet that day, as many students had not yet discovered the Career Day for themselves. It was all the more pleasant to meet engaged, motivated young people in the lecture who are interested in the teaching profession and innovative school concepts.
In my presentation, I provided an insight into the daily life at the boarding school Schloss Torgelow – a school where performance-oriented learning and personal support go hand in hand. With small classes of a maximum of twelve students, individual guidance, and a clear daily structure, we create an environment where children can develop their strengths.
My goal was to encourage students to consciously choose the teaching profession – especially at a private school with a boarding facility. Because it’s not just about teaching, but also about guidance, community, and responsibility.
Following the lecture, there was plenty of time for intensive discussions. I was very pleased with the exchange – on questions about individual support, digitalization in teaching, and of course, about starting a career at Schloss Torgelow. Because: Those who want to make a difference must take action.
