“Exam AI” in the regional final of business@school
Creative business ideas, entrepreneurial thinking, and a lot of team spirit – all of this is showcased in the competition business@school organized by the Boston Consulting Group, in which the 11th-grade economics class of the Schloss Torgelow Boarding School participated again this year. In the school finals, the team “Exam AI” emerged victorious.
The competition business@school is divided into three challenging phases: First, the students analyze a publicly traded company, then they examine a small regional company for its economic performance. In the third and final phase, the task is to develop original ideas, establish a fictitious company, and succeed in front of an expert jury with a well-founded business plan and a convincing presentation.
The idea with a certain extra: “Exam AI”
This year, the team “Exam AI” succeeded with a particularly innovative idea: a virtual exam simulation to prepare for the oral part of the Abitur – specifically, the oral examination in the second part of the Abitur exam.
The concept was developed by Carlotta, Johann, Maximilian, and Leonid. They were accompanied by their subject teacher, Ms. Petri, who fosters the entrepreneurial spirit of her students with much commitment and know-how.
Strong competition, strong performance
The path to the final was not easy: The four had to compete against strong competition. And the ideas of the other teams were certainly impressive.
- “Good Parent” developed a guide chatbot for parents,
- “Heartwarming Pots” impressed with a nostalgic soup kitchen concept based on grandma’s recipes,
- “Connectmail” presented a platform to rediscover lost contacts through old email addresses.
In the final round, the teams faced a four-member jury of business experts, who posed critical follow-up questions after the presentations – a real “grilling” of the teams regarding the heart and mind of their business models. The team “Exam AI” impressed with a well-thought-out concept, realistic potential for implementation, and a strong pitch.
Next stop: Berlin
The deserved reward: On May 6, 2025, “Exam AI” will represent Schloss Torgelow at the regional finals in Berlin. A further step towards innovation and entrepreneurship.
