First place at the state olympiad in computer science

Congratulations, Constantin! Our tenth grader Constantin Zimmermann has achieved first place at this year’s State Olympiad in Computer Science for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. A great success that we are very proud of as a school.

Together with his project partner Hanna from another school, Constantin participated in three consecutive IT camps. Each camp featured new challenges related to programming and creative problem-solving. In the third camp, the two finally presented their joint final project and impressed the jury.

The task: To program a robot so that it can orient itself in unknown terrain, recognize and avoid obstacles. The backstory was as exciting as it was technically challenging. A research team sends a robot on an exploration tour. It must navigate safely without falling into a hole or crashing into a column.

Constantin and Hanna not only developed a functioning solution but also demonstrated teamwork, perseverance, and high technical competence. Their programming surpassed many other contributions. In the end, they achieved first place.

We sincerely congratulate Constantin on this success and are excited about his commitment to the field of computer science. Those who know him understand: there is not only talent here, but also a true passion for tinkering, programming, and collaborative development.
