Taster day at Schloss Torgelow
With great anticipation and a warm welcome, we were pleased to host our future fifth graders and their parents at the traditional open house at Schloss Torgelow last Monday.
The excited children had the opportunity to meet their future class teacher, gain initial insights into the lessons, and explore their new learning environment. The parents were also invited to sit at a school desk themselves – a rare but enjoyable experience that many enjoyed with a wink.
After the joint class program, a cozy coffee gathering for children and parents invited everyone to exchange ideas. The team project baking even lovingly decorated a cake with the theme “School Enrollment” using pens, a ruler, and paper clips. Our current fifth graders had kindly crafted school cones and good luck charms for their successors in advance – a lovely tradition that we continue each year with much heart. This way, the children can get to know each other a little before the first school day, making the start of the new school year a bit easier.
A big thank you for the organization goes to our mentors at the House of the Future (HdZ), to Ms. Schlüter, Ms. Seidelmann, to the kitchen team, and of course to all the children who contributed with great commitment and creativity to the success of this day.
We are already looking forward to an exciting school year with our new fifth graders – it’s great to have you here!
