Self-built, perfectly combined: Swedish chair meets folding stool

In our boarding school’s wood workshop, not only furniture is created, but also ideas, community, and real favorite pieces. After the students built a sturdy and comfortable Swedish chair, the excitement was great – and it quickly raised the question: What else is needed for the perfect outdoor experience?

The answer came from the group itself: it should be a side table. Practical, easy to transport, matching the chair – and of course, homemade. The idea of the multifunctional folding stool was born.

Made from leftover wood, the small stool serves multiple purposes: it functions as a standalone seat, but can also be wonderfully used as a side table for the Swedish chair. Thanks to its compact design, it is easy to carry and versatile – whether in the garden, at the beach, or on the terrace.

The result: Two projects that complement each other perfectly. They illustrate how creative, sustainable, and practical the work in our workshop is. The Swedish chair and the folding stool are not only functional but also a true statement: for craftsmanship, for teamwork, and for the joy of doing it yourself.

We think: This combination is perfect for relaxed summer evenings outdoors – and it’s twice as rewarding when you’ve built it yourself.
