Former students of the boarding school: Kirsten meets – Episode 6
Life can be so beautiful. And it is especially beautiful when you are entrusted with a task that brings joy, promises fun, moves you to tears, and you have the chance to visit impressive personalities in their professional environment.
I, Kirsten Lehmann, have the privilege of meeting former graduates of Schloss Torgelow in the film series “Kirsten Meets…” and visiting them in their current lives.
What I experienced during my visits, what I learned about the different career paths of the former students, their goals, and their time at Schloss Torgelow, has been captured on camera by Jens Lange from “flamencofilm.” The resulting films are multifaceted, very personal, full of life, a bit “sentimental,” and there are one or two challenges for me to master.
Definitely check it out, mark it down, and celebrate with me. Have fun!

Episode 6: Kirsten meets… Lavinia Rosen, art dealer and gallery owner in Hamburg.
Lavinia came to us from Hamburg to the eighth grade at Torgelower See. After her Abitur in 2007, Lavinia initially studied political and administrative sciences in Konstanz. Even during her studies, art was an important part and focus of her life. After successfully completing her studies, various internships and several stays abroad contributed to deepening her interest in art and the art trade. Lavinia pursued another degree and earned her Master’s in “Art Business and Contemporary Art” at the prestigious Sotheby’s Institute in New York and London.
Based on her work experiences, which she gathered at the “House of World Cultures,” the “Peggy Guggenheim Collection,” and the “Kinz+Tillou Gallery,” Lavinia founded the start-up company “kunstvoll-gallery” in Hamburg in 2015 and became self-employed. Her idea: “kunstvoll” fills empty spaces with art. The “kunstvoll” principle: Exhibitions “pop up” in different locations, such as in shell constructions, warehouses, or vacant commercial spaces, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the works of exceptional artists in exciting locations and settings. At the end of the exhibitions, everything is packed up again, a new vernissage is prepared, and the “kunstvoll-gallery” is recreated in another interesting place.
I had the opportunity to visit Lavinia in her pop-up gallery with an exhibition by the artist David Friedemann in Hamburg. A film was created about Lavinia, about art, about change and search, about the “behind,” about independence, about idealism, and about friendship. In episode six, I meet a student whom I have accompanied in class for several years. And of course, there will be tears, laughter, painting, and wonder.
Dear Lavinia, thank you for a day full of emotions, full of artistic impressions, full of sentimentality, full of joy, full of sunshine and light, full of surprises, full of warmth and full of good conversations. And yes, your old teacher is impressed and proud. Thank you for allowing me to accompany you as a wonderful student and to meet you as a successful woman. My life is beautiful.
Episode 7: After the summer break, it continues 🙂
