Episode 28: Kirsten meets….. Stefan Rauch
Episode 28 “Kirsten meets……..”: Stefan Rauch, IT entrepreneur in Berlin
If anyone can say, “I was there from the beginning,” it is Stefan. He came to the newly founded Schloss Torgelow as a fifth grader in 1994 and stayed until his high school graduation in 2002. Eight years of school and boarding life that have shaped him. And a favorite subject that has stayed with him: computer science.
Today, Stefan leads his own IT company: Qualmity GmbH. Founded in the second semester of his studies, it has grown with each idea. Qualmity develops apps, software solutions, and microcontroller applications – customized, thoughtful, with heart. Stefan is a boss, trainer, programmer, and an outstanding personality with principles. He is a person who values good interactions, personal development, and doing something meaningful.
I got to visit Stefan in Berlin – and as always, there was a little challenge: “Kirsten dashes” with a teaching robot through the office. It was loud, funny, full of wastebaskets, and so wonderfully different from my everyday life.
We talked about IT, about responsibility, about founding times and the future. And about what nobody sees from the outside: that Stefan not only learned to love programming at Schloss Torgelow, but also his wife. Today they are married, have three children – and when he talks about his family, you can tell what is truly important to him.
Thank you for this day.
Dear Stefan, it was a wonderful visit with you in Berlin. You gave me a great gift. I returned home filled with positive feelings and new perspectives.
You show how to bring an idea to life with curiosity, persistence, competence, and creativity, while also making others excited about computer science.
Thank you for the afternoon, the warm camaraderie, and for the trust of allowing me to be a part of your story.
