Nationwide reading competition for 6th grade classes
On December 3, 2025, it was that time again: this year’s reading competition for 6th graders took place at our school. Elisabeth, Julius, Amalia, and Louis emerged as the winners in their respective classes and now competed against each other once again. On Wednesday afternoon, they presented their skills not only to their classmates, but also to a jury consisting of last year’s winner, Benedict, two students from the advanced German course, Johanna and Carlotta, as well as Ms. Genzel and Ms. Neumann.
First, all participants presented a text of their own choice, followed by a challenging foreign text. With a lot of courage, expressiveness, and enthusiasm for reading, the four mastered both rounds. At this point, they were already all winners and were awarded a certificate as class winners.
In the end, Amalia emerged as the school winner. In addition to the school winner’s certificate, she received a gift certificate. All four readers also received a book prize.
We hope you enjoy reading it and wish Amalia every success in the next round of the competition!
