Schloss Torgelow Boarding School on the move: Team project “Sailing” – a special week on the water

Set sail, feel the wind, experience team spirit – this year’s sailing project trip took our group to Warnemünde on the Baltic Sea. A week full of sunshine, wind, shared experiences, and great successes on the water will remain in everyone’s memory for a long time.

For a week, it was all about setting sails, showing team spirit, and discovering new things. This year’s team project trip took the group to the Baltic Sea in Warnemünde, where ideal conditions prevailed for a varied and exciting week. Accommodated in the modern container hostel Dock Inn, we were not only greeted with an extraordinary and stylish place to stay, but also with many opportunities to spend our leisure time together and to unwind in a pleasant atmosphere in the evenings.

The autumn weather was at its best: plenty of sunshine, mild temperatures, and excellent wind conditions over wide stretches. Only towards the end of the week did the wind ease a bit – a welcome opportunity to consolidate what had been learned at a quieter pace and fully enjoy the days on the water.

The focus of the week was practical training on dinghies and keelboats. With great commitment and mutual support, the participants learned to steer boats safely, execute maneuvers precisely, and work as a team. Their collective effort was rewarded at the end with a special success: all participants passed the sailing license exam for dinghies and keelboats.

Another highlight was the opportunity to learn sailing on a yacht for the first time. This new experience excited the group and impressively demonstrated how important communication, trust, and good teamwork on board are. Working on the sails, steering the larger boat, and the feeling of gliding over the water together created lasting impressions.

Thus ended a week full of movement, community, and discoveries – characterized by many new experiences, successful maneuvers, sunny hours, and a good atmosphere both on land and on the water.
