Starting in the 2025\/2026 school year, students in the tenth grade will receive an additional subject that teaches them responsible use of AI. <\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cOur young people are high-performing and highly motivated,\u201d says principal Mario Lehmann. \u201cWe want to not only provide them with knowledge, but also enable them to critically use and actively shape future technologies.\u201d <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shaping the future: Seizing opportunities, understanding risks<\/h2>\n\n<p>The school&#8217;s own framework plan, developed by the Computer Science department, combines practical relevance with critical reflection. The focus is on applications such as creating and editing texts, images, and presentations. A key qualification is the so-called &#8220;prompting&#8221; \u2013 the art of guiding AI systems to the desired outcomes through precise instructions.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Furthermore, young people learn to assess the opportunities and risks of technology and to engage with ethical questions. The goal is to make them competent and responsible creators of a future with AI. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning with Digital Responsibility<\/h2>\n\n<p>Digitalization is already a lived practice at the boarding school. For years, all students from grade 7 have been using managed iPads provided and supervised by the school. With the new subject, Schloss Torgelow is taking the next step: from digital equipment to a conscious, reflective approach to innovative technologies.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More than lessons: Expert lectures and alumni experiences<\/h2>\n\n<p>Accompanying the subject, a lecture series will commence, where renowned experts provide insights into current developments. Particularly exciting: Former students from Torgelow, who are now working in the AI industry, will return to their school to pass on their knowledge to the next generation. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schloss Torgelow: One Step Ahead<\/h2>\n\n<p>With the introduction of &#8220;Artificial Intelligence&#8221; as an independent subject, Schloss Torgelow underscores its commitment to thinking beyond mere knowledge transfer in education.
