At Schloss Torgelow, we place great importance on educating our students to become socially responsible individuals. They should learn that it is important to engage for others, to be helpful, and to act socially responsibly. Therefore, in the daily life of the school and boarding school, we repeatedly involve our students in social tasks to shape the community at Schloss Torgelow together and to make responsibility for others tangible. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A community thrives on togetherness, and it is important that all students are willing to contribute to it. Therefore, each mentoring group in the boarding school takes on a responsibility for the community. The youngest students from the House of the Future are responsible for the small animal zoo, while the older ones take care of the library, run the juice shop, manage the disco, or organize regular film screenings in the cinema. <\/p>\n

Active in the Student Parliament<\/h2>\n

One way to actively engage in the school and boarding community is by taking on a role within the student council. Here, students can represent their interests as floor or student representatives in the weekly student parliament, contribute their ideas, and actively shape school and boarding life. <\/p>\n

Mentorships for younger and new students<\/h2>\n

Furthermore, our students take on responsibility as mentors for younger or new students and help weaker students as tutors to develop their potential. It is important to us that the students support each other, that they are there for one another, and that values such as empathy, responsibility, integrity, and reliability are truly practiced. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n\n

Students from the upper school also support our educational team as monitors and supervise the homework periods of the younger students during the weekly general conference.<\/p>\n

Student assistants in the house of the future<\/h2>\n

In the house of the future, older students have the opportunity to take on the role of big sisters or big brothers. As student assistants, they live with our youngest ones and support the adults in caring for the students. They organize sports events, provide school assistance, read a story at bedtime, and serve as advisors, comforters, and friends. <\/p>\n

In addition to the student assistants, the graduates at Schloss Torgelow bear a special responsibility. They take on a role model function and demonstrate their ability to act reliably and think economically through the independent management of the student cafeteria, the “Candy Shop.” The revenue generated goes towards funding the annual graduation ball. <\/p>\n

Active for Sahel e.V.<\/h2>\n

With regular fundraising events, our students and staff support Sahel e. V., which operates children’s and youth facilities in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in Africa.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
