At Schloss Torgelow, they are part of a manageable and active school community, where teachers and students meet with respect and mutual appreciation. As a sponsoring family, we personally select the teachers from a large pool of interested applicants. For us, not only is the **qualification particularly important**, but also the **willingness to engage** with our students. In the first school year, we selected the teachers from more than 300 applicants who together launched the Schloss Torgelow project. Schloss Torgelow owes its great success to their commitment and pedagogical talent. At Schloss Torgelow, they can **teach small classes with a maximum of 12 students**, have time for each individual, and can take advantage of the freedom offered by our educational concept. Today, 40 teachers instruct the 270 students at our boarding school. Additionally, there are another 20 educational staff working in the boarding facility. At the training location Schloss Torgelow, teacher trainees can complete their legal clerkship. We are also happy to offer the opportunity to do an internship. They enjoy pedagogical freedom, experience a respectful coexistence, and work in a motivating learning environment that allows for intense work and real relationships between educators and learners. Torgelow students are highly motivated, curious, and ready to actively shape the learning process. It is a joy to teach them. Anyone who has worked at Schloss Torgelow quickly realizes that the journey to the Mecklenburg Lake District is worthwhile – because here, as a teacher, one finds what makes this profession special: interested students, a strong faculty, and respect and appreciation in daily interactions. In addition to a solid professional qualification, Schloss Torgelow places great importance on commitment, enthusiasm for young people, and the willingness to actively engage in school life. The selection of new teachers is conducted personally by the school management and the sponsoring family. Around 40 teachers and 20 educational staff are currently supporting about 270 students in school and boarding school life – aided by administration, kitchen, and technical staff. A familial atmosphere, flat hierarchies, and a strong sense of community characterize the daily work routine. In total, more than 100 employees take care of the well-being of the students every day. Teachers need time for pedagogy. Schloss Torgelow relieves them of administrative tasks with a strong administrative team. The administrative processes are fully digitized. Teachers also receive their own iPad; the school covers the costs for textbooks, class trips, and professional development. Schloss Torgelow features modern specialist rooms with LED touch boards, excellent science labs, its own gym, a golf simulator, boats, a tennis court, and a sports hall, as well as all-day catering in the cafeteria. Employees benefit from permanent employment with a 13th-month salary, company retirement plans, bonus payments, JobBike, JobCar (FINN), and flexible work models. Student teachers can complete their traineeship directly at Schloss Torgelow. School internships are also possible. Schloss Torgelow offers optimal conditions for dedicated career starters who enjoy teamwork, personal responsibility, and personal development. We view it as an honor that most of our teachers stay at Schloss Torgelow for many years. Teachers who retire are often replaced by colleagues who have completed their traineeship with us.
