Applicant pool Students who meet the admission requirements at the private boarding school Schloss Torgelow can apply for the scholarship. They should - be ready to contribute to the boarding school community, - have social, musical, or athletic interests and - demonstrate good or very good academic performance. The applications are valid for the upcoming school year. The applicant group for first-time applications includes students who will be in grades 5 to 10 in the upcoming school year. ### 2. Application procedure Applicants must submit the following application documents by no later than February 28 of the year: - A handwritten essay in which the applicant outlines what expectations they have for attending the private secondary school and what extracurricular interests they have; - a certificate folder with all certificates starting from the 1st grade; - a résumé with personal information and areas of interest; - a photo of the applicant; - a reference letter from a teacher who taught him/her; - a consent form from the parents that the scholarship may be applied for and - a copy of the most recent income tax assessment of the parents or legal guardians; - An explanation of the maximum possible monthly co-payment for school and boarding fees. If this information is missing, ****your scholarship application cannot be processed****. Please note that by the application deadline, all documents must be complete. If the documents are not complete, the application will not be forwarded to the Society for the Promotion of Talented Students e.V., but will be returned to the applicant. In addition, the applicant must have personally presented themselves at the private boarding school Schloss Torgelow before submitting the documents. Selection of Scholarship Recipients Upon receipt of all applications, the written applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee of the Society for the Promotion of Talented Students e. V. ### 4. Amount and Duration of the Scholarship The amount of the scholarship depends on the student’s financial need. The granted scholarship will be deducted from the school and boarding fees. The prerequisite for processing the application is that the above-mentioned application documents are submitted in full. Admission to Schloss Torgelow takes place starting from the 5th grade. Students from all federal states and abroad can apply for a place. It is also possible to be admitted during the school year, provided there are available spots. To create optimal conditions for a successful transition to the upper secondary level, an early transfer to Torgelow is recommended. However, admission is also possible into the introductory class of the upper secondary level. No. An income tax assessment must be submitted because it is possible that additional income is earned alongside the salary (rental income, business operations, capital gains). The income tax assessment must be no older than two years. If no income tax return has been filed, the proof of salary is sufficient if there is a confirmation from the tax office that no income tax return has been submitted. The Volkhard-Brox scholarship is usually awarded up to a maximum amount of €8,000. In individual cases, higher scholarships are possible.
