On the last school day of the 2024/25 academic year, the entire school community of the Schloss Torgelow boarding school gathered for the traditional closing event on the sports field. In sunny weather, with music and a good atmosphere, we reflected together on a eventful half-year, honored athletic achievements, and expressed our gratitude for many special moments.

This year, the award ceremonies also took center stage: The winners of the big school triathlon were honored by class – for athletic endurance, team spirit, and impressive individual performances. This year’s overall winners and Ironman or Ironwoman winners were particularly celebrated.

Equally exciting was the awarding of the best teams at the popular Torgelower team games: After bus pulling, dragon boat racing, and many other competitions, it was clear – the Eagles secured overall victory and thus the large trophy as well as an honorary spot for their flag. Congratulations!

The academic achievements of the students were also acknowledged that morning: Many of them received certificates of merit and praise for exceptional success and great commitment in class. As a recognition, there were also many book gifts with a small dedication for their excellent performance. A wonderful moment that shows how much effort and joy in learning has been evident over the past school year.

A special place in the closing event was occupied by the awards for Student of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Mentor of the Year. The joy of Ferdinand, Mrs. Neumann, and Mr. Wille over the recognition was great.

On this day, students, interns, volunteers, and colleagues who are embarking on new paths were also bid farewell – whether it be to pursue studies, go abroad, or enter retirement. For many, it was an emotional moment. We thank them all from the bottom of our hearts for their time, their commitment, and the many marks they have left behind.

Now it’s time to: Vacation. Breathe. Gather new strength.
