Growing up is one of the most challenging and exciting parts of life. Much changes, everything is in motion. During this time, children and adolescents need a solid foundation and a sense of security within the community. In a high-performing community, children and adolescents find the right environment at Schloss Torgelow during important years to grow up. Here, they discover their talents, develop interests beyond school, and show what they are capable of. ## The mentoring programs In the boarding school, younger and older students, girls and boys have their own living areas: the mentorates. Typically, two students share a comfortably furnished room that they are allowed to decorate according to their taste. ## Educators trained as mentors Each mentorship is supervised around the clock by two educationally trained mentors. They are available for the children and adolescents day and night, help with problems, ensure order and behavior, and provide care and advice. All staff members at the boarding school have a pedagogical training, are personally selected by the Lehmann family, and are committed to the principles of a clear educational style. Here, they share a cozy double room or have a single room. Each mentorship is supervised around the clock by two educators who are both trained and professionally qualified mentors. They are always there for the students, assisting with questions or concerns, promoting social interaction, and providing guidance in everyday life. Yes. Our youngest children live in the “House of the Future,” which is located right next to our large artificial turf field. It offers an age-appropriate living environment with plenty of play, security, and educational support – the perfect place for a successful start to life at the boarding school. In the design, our youngest students contributed their ideas and realized their dreams: There is a slide from the top floor to the ground floor, a playroom with a climbing wall, a large craft room, a private cinema, a practice room for playing the piano, a kitchen for baking and cooking, as well as a large living room – everything a child’s heart desires. Yes. We usually start the school year with one or two fully occupied 5th grade classes. They enjoy the diversity of offerings and the atmosphere of security in the “House of the Future.” Here, they can happily grow up in a strong community of sensible students. Two places per class are reserved for day students, and 10 places for boarding students. This ensures that there is no boredom in the boarding school. Our experience is that our 5th-grade students become routine boarding school children after just a few days. They are supported by four mentors. Additionally, eight to ten 10th-grade students live in the House of the Future as student assistants and support the younger ones as “big sisters” or “big brothers.” Yes. At Schloss Torgelow, more than 70 extracurricular projects are offered each week – ranging from music and theater to sports and technology, as well as creative and social initiatives. These activities promote individual talents and strengthen social interaction within the boarding community. Definitely. The Torgelow student body forms a strong community. Older students take responsibility for younger ones, there are regular joint activities, clear structures, and a lot of mutual respect. We provide an environment in which children and young people can develop well. At Schloss Torgelow, it’s easy to find friends—true friends who will accompany you throughout your life. No problem. The first three months are a probation period. At the end of the probation period, the contract can be terminated. Subsequently, the contract runs until the end of the first school year. After that, it can be terminated on February 28th and August 31st of each year. Students who are uncertain whether Schloss Torgelow is the right fit have the opportunity to try out boarding school life without risk. Schloss Torgelow has about 240 boarding students and 30 day students. Unlike many other boarding schools, the boarding students at Schloss Torgelow are in the majority. This ensures that one is never lonely, but rather surrounded by classmates from early morning until late evening.
