“Faust” production at Schloss Torgelow boarding school
“You are approaching again, wavering figures […]” – On March 5, 2025, it was time again: The Young State Theater Parchim visited the Schloss Torgelow boarding school to present the students of K1 with a (shortened) solo performance of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s drama “Faust. The Tragedy Part One.”
The entertaining 60-minute production was the culmination of an intensive study of this famous work in German class.
Once again, the actor Vincent Hoff impressed with his portrayal of all (!) “Faust” characters; he worked virtuously with facial expressions, gestures, and voice. But our K1 students were also able to demonstrate their acting skills: Mr. Hoff consistently involved them in the performance – and just like that, one of them suddenly became a part of the “ensemble” as Wagner, Gretchen, or Valentin.
Overall, an entertaining and partly winking staging of the classic material; the students of K1 were full of praise by the end of the evening. We are already looking forward to a new edition in the next school year!
