For three generations, we, the Lehmann family, have been guiding students towards their Abitur at the Kurpfalz Boarding School near Heidelberg, and since 1994 also at Schloss Torgelow. Our experience has repeatedly confirmed that, in addition to knowledge and education, discipline, tolerance, and self-confident action open important doors to success. Many former students remain in contact with each other to this day, as well as with us through the alumni network. They attribute their success in life to their work and communication skills, determination, and good manners, which they acquired during their years at our boarding school. ## 12 students in the class Together with our educational team, we have developed a school and boarding concept that specially qualifies Torgelow students for the challenges of the future. In classes with a maximum of 12 students, they receive performance-oriented support, obtain a high-level Abitur after just 12 school years, gain experience abroad, engage in teamwork, and find friends for life. In lessons, our teachers have more time. Here, each individual is not only challenged but also supported in a very personalized way. ## A strong community From many applicants, we are selecting students in Torgelow who impress us with their positive attitude towards school, their personality, and their interest. Students from the 5th grade to the first year of the upper secondary school (K1) are welcome. Torgelow students have consistently ranked highly in the state-wide central graduation exams for years. We are very proud of their achievements. Unlike state high schools, a maximum of twelve students learn together in the classroom with us. This allows for focused instruction, intensive exchange, direct feedback, and personal guidance on the path to the Abitur. Schloss Torgelow stands for a values-oriented education that combines performance, discipline, and personal development. Our educational concept is not a classical reform pedagogy, but a modern connection of academic standards, individual support, and a strong community. Our students know that it is an honor to be able to attend Schloss Torgelow – and they take this opportunity to develop clear goals for their future. Schloss Torgelow is a secondary school starting from grade 5. However, students can be admitted to grades 5 to 11. A transfer is possible from all federal states – even during the school year, provided there is a spot available. Schloss Torgelow is a boarding school for high-achieving students who feel underchallenged at their current school and would benefit from intensive support. In grade 5, we expect a recommendation for gymnasium or very good to good performance in countries with a six-year primary school or orientation level. For admission to grades 6 to 11, we expect an average grade of at least 2.5. An exception to the admission requirements may be made in case of a noticeable decline in performance compared to previous years’ reports if it can be expected that the previous performance level can be achieved again. Through teaching in small classes, our teachers can specifically address the individual performance level of each child. Knowledge gaps are closed, and strengths are specifically promoted. No one is left alone. Our new students quickly sense that their teachers want to show them what they are capable of – and how much they can achieve. In an era where classic values such as responsibility, teamwork, and respectful coexistence often take a back seat, Schloss Torgelow offers an atmosphere where reliability, empathy, independence, and social intelligence are at the forefront. We not only prepare our students academically for the future, but also instill values that they will carry throughout their lives.
