## Everything about the admission

First, a personal consultation takes place on-site, for which a member of the management team takes about 90 minutes. Afterwards, the family receives a tour.

Various documents are required for registration, including the school and boarding contract, student form, health report, medical certificate, consent declaration, passport photo, reports from grade 1 onwards, if applicable, a transition certificate, as well as copies of the ID and vaccination record. International students must have good German language skills at B2 level; those who have not yet reached this language level will initially attend a language course.

In principle, Schloss Torgelow accepts students from 5th grade onwards, with the admission decision also depending on their previous academic performance.

Yes, of course. Please contact Mrs. Vlach, our parent and student advisor, and arrange a personal appointment with her. Schloss Torgelow offers you individual appointments on one of our information days on the weekend or also during the week. Two members of our leadership team will take 1 ½ hours to advise you and your child individually. Afterward, your family will receive a tour of the school and the boarding school. You can, of course, also take a look at a boarding room. It is important that we only offer appointments when the child can also attend.

We are pleased to offer a video appointment for students who are currently attending a school abroad to determine whether a visit to Schloss Torgelow is possible.

No, Schloss Torgelow does not conduct entrance tests. We only want to get to know our new students personally and gladly answer all questions. In the counseling interview, the student is the focus: hobbies, favorite subjects, special interests, and everything that is important for us to get to know our new students personally.

After the consultation, we will send information within a few days on whether Schloss Torgelow has made a positive admission decision. Subsequently, the family will have the opportunity to decide whether to accept the offered place. The place is reserved for the duration of the set deadline.

The minimum average required for admission to Schloss Torgelow is 2.4 in the main subjects. The school is aimed at students who wish to achieve good or very good performance.

Students from abroad must additionally have good German language skills that are at least at level B2.

Yes, the admission of students with LRS (reading-writing difficulties) is generally possible. However, the decision about admission depends on the severity of the LRS. Schloss Torgelow offers targeted support measures for dyslexics to best support the students.

No. Giftedness and ADD/ADHD are often diagnosed together. We get a personal impression and then decide on admission.

The limitation of class sizes to 12 students leads to a restriction in enrollment capacities. We therefore recommend scheduling a consultation as early as possible. Students who wish to be admitted to the 5th grade should present themselves at the end of the 3rd grade or at the beginning of the 4th grade.

Yes. Schloss Torgelow admits day students at every grade level. The allocation of these places takes place at the end of May each year. If you are interested, you can already apply in writing with a form and all certificates starting from grade 1. You will then be invited to a counseling meeting in the spring. In any case, we recommend registering your child at a public secondary school as a precaution, in case there is no place for them with us.

No. The appointments on information days during the weekend are reserved for families who have a longer journey. We typically schedule appointments for day students on weekdays in the afternoon.

Basically yes. However, admission is only possible if the daytime school places are not fully occupied and there are available spaces in the classes.

No, individual appointments are scheduled to have enough time to get to know the child. It is important to us to be able to answer all the family’s questions in a personal conversation. Therefore, the information day is not a traditional “open house.”
